Assessment and Support Provisions

In accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the UGC Accessibility Guidelines and Standards for Higher Education Institutions and Universities (2022), the College is committed to providing an inclusive, equitable and non-discriminatory academic environment for students with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.

The College recognises the categories of disabilities as notified under clause (zc) of section 2 of RPwD Act, 2016, and adopts a need-based approach to accessibility and inclusion. Academic, examination and support-related accommodations are provided on a case-to-case basis, taking into consideration the specific needs of students, availability of institutional resources and applicable university and UGC norms. The focus of the institution is on ensuring fairness, dignity, confidentiality and equal opportunity in all academic and administrative processes.

To support students effectively, the College facilitates reasonable accommodation measures such as extra or compensatory time during examinations, scribe support wherever applicable, flexible seating arrangements, academic mentoring through class teachers and coordinators, and access to counselling support through institutional mechanisms. Students are also guided regarding available support services, institutional policies and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Requests for support and accommodation are facilitated through the Accessibility, Inclusion and Equal Opportunity Committee in coordination with academic departments, the examination section and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The institution follows a phased and need-based approach towards strengthening accessibility, in line with regulatory guidelines and institutional capacity, ensuring a respectful, inclusive and student-centric campus environment.
