NCC (National Cadet Corp)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the world’s largest voluntary uniformed youth organization, established under the Parliamentary Act No. XXXI of 1948 with an initial strength of 20,000 cadets. Over the decades, the NCC has grown immensely in stature and outreach, and today it comprises more than 15 lakh cadets across India. Cadets undergo structured military-like training—two years for the Junior Wing/Division and three years for the Senior Wing/Division—focused on holistic development at the physical, mental, social, and intellectual levels.

NCC fosters qualities such as courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, sportsmanship, and dedication to duty. It aims to create responsible citizens committed to national service and integration.
