  1. Title of the Practice -DIGITISATION AND CREATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS THEREBY LEADING TO A TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CAMPUS.



  1. Objectives of the Practice-

  • To maintain all the documents in a digital format.

  • To leverage modern technology to enhance the overall learning and operational experience of the institution.

  • To streamline the administrative processes like admissions, examinations, financial aids etc through automated systems and thereby improving the operational efficiency.

  • To integrate technology to foster the responsibility towards the environment.


  1. The Context

Digitization and the creation of information systems are crucial steps towards building a technology-enabled campus. This process involves transforming traditional methods of operation into digital formats, utilizing technology to enhance campus operations and services.

The purpose behind designing and developing the technology enabled campus is to ensure that the institution does not stay behind when it comes to competition in the industry. The major compelling reason is to enhance the teaching learning experience.Technology allows students to access educational materials and resources from anywhere and at any time.Technology-enabled campus can provide a more accessible, flexible, engaging, and cost-effective educational experience. They prepare students for the digital age, offer opportunities for global collaboration, and help institutions leverage data for continuous improvement. Similarly, documents are valuable evidence that ensures that the institution has conducted the various activities that are being claimed. Digitising the  documents makes it easy to retrieve.

By focusing on digitization and the development of information systems, educational institutions can create a technology-enabled campus that enhances efficiency, accessibility, and overall learning outcomes for students and faculty alike.


 4. The Practice 

The institution is supported by an able management who strives to provide excellent facilities to the stakeholders. There are provisions of Smart Boards and Projectors for facilitating blended learning. Similarly, the faculties are encouraged to record their lectures and post in You tube channels for future reference by the students. The campus is Wifi enabled. The institution runs its major administrative functions using Master Soft ERP. 3 fully equipped computer labs are there for usage by the students. Similarly, the library is also equipped with computers for student’s usage.

The following practises are followed in order to fulfil the objectives:-

  • Assessing current infrastructure.

  • Implementing learning management system.

  • Digital records management.

  • Enhancing campus communication.

  • Integrating smart technologies.

  • Providing technology training and support.

  • Monitoring progress and gather feedback.

  • Promoting a culture of innovation.


5. Evidence of Success 

The technology enabled campus has played a significant contribution for the institution. The students of this institution are majorly first-generation learners and come from relatively poor backgrounds. They do not have the resources nor the capability to arrange the same. For such students the provision of arranging computers and learning materials are a boon. The success of digitization and the creation of information systems leading to a technology-enabled campus can be evidenced through various tangible outcomes and qualitative improvements as follows:-

  • Improved administrative efficiency.

  • Enhanced learning experience.

  • Increased accessibility and flexibility.

  • Enhanced campus safety and sustainability.

  • Continuous improvement.


 6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required

While digitization and the creation of information systems can significantly enhance a campus's technological capabilities, they also come with various challenges and potential problems that institutions need to address. These are as follows:-

Infrastructure limitations: Outdated or inadequate IT infrastructure can hinder the effective implementation of digitization efforts. Lack of sufficient network bandwidth, hardware resources, or cybersecurity measures may pose challenges to system reliability and data security.

Costs and Budget Constraints: The initial investment required for implementing digital systems, including software licenses, hardware upgrades, and staff training, can be substantial. Ongoing operational costs for system maintenance, upgrades, and support may strain institutional budgets.

Resistance to Change: Resistance from faculty, staff, or students who are accustomed to traditional methods of teaching, learning, or administrative processes. Overcoming cultural barriers and promoting buy-in for new technologies requires effective change management strategies.

Data Privacy and Security Concerns: Managing sensitive data such as student records, financial information, and research data requires robust cybersecurity measures. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and safeguarding against cyber threats and data breaches are critical.

Integration and Compatibility Issues: Compatibility challenges when integrating new digital systems with existing legacy systems or third-party applications. Ensuring interoperability between different platforms and data sources to enable seamless data exchange and workflow integration.

Digital Skills Gap: Insufficient digital literacy and technical skills among faculty, staff, or students may impede the effective utilization of new technologies. Providing adequate training and professional development opportunities is essential to bridge the digital skills gap.

Accessibility and Inclusivity: Ensuring equitable access to technology-enabled services for all students, including those with disabilities or limited digital access. Addressing digital divide issues and providing accommodations to support diverse learning needs and preferences.

Maintenance and Support Challenges: Managing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for digital systems can be resource-intensive. Ensuring the availability of IT support services to address user queries, technical issues, and system downtime.

User Experience and Usability: Designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for digital platforms and applications to enhance adoption and usability. Gathering user feedback and conducting usability testing to continuously improve the user experience.

Regulatory and Compliance Requirements: Adhering to regulatory frameworks and compliance standards related to data privacy, accessibility, and technology use in education. Staying abreast of evolving legal and regulatory landscapes impacting digital initiatives.

1.Title of the Practice -INSTITUTION’S INNOVATION COUNCIL-AN INITIATIVE OF MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.


2. Objectives of the Practice-

  • To develop entrepreneurial culture among the students.

  • To impart employability and social skills among the students.

  • To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.

  • Start-up supporting mechanism

  • Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.


 3. The Context

The institution believes in delivering quality education and experience to the students.For this the institution has entered into an MoUs with MoE’s Innovation Cell. This initiative will help in fostering an entrepreneurial culture in the institution through various activities. It encourages students, faculty, and staff to think creatively, develop innovative solutions, and nurture entrepreneurial mindsets. MoE provides support, guidelines, and resources to ensure the effective implementation of innovation initiatives within educational institutions.


 4. The Practice 

The Institution’s Innovation Council was established in our College in the year 2022-23. The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with AICTE ,launched the Institution's Innovation Council in the year 2018 to develop innovation and startup ecosystems in higher education institutes. Various activities ,assigned by MoE’s Innovation Cell, have been conducted in our College. Following are selected activities conducted by IIC :-

  • Poster Presentation Competition on “Your Ideas: A Business Seed”.

  • Intra-collegiate Competition “Quest 2.0: A Business Revolution”.

  • State Level Workshop on “Angel Investment / VC Funding for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs”.

  • Community outreach program “Creativity A State of Mind or Mindset for Entrepreneurship”.

  • World Entrepreneurs Day Celebration.

  • Visit to RIIDL (Incubation Center), Somaiya Vidyavihar.

  • Poster Making and Presentation Competition on “Unknown Start”

5. Evidence of Success 

The activities have been helpful in generating an entrepreneurial spirit among the students. They have been guided about startups, creative visions and business ideas, funding sources etc.

Technical world, a start up by our students sets an example for other students too. Similarly, many students are motivated to enter into such startups.


6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required

Overcoming resistance to change among faculty, staff, and students who are accustomed to traditional academic practices. Limited financial resources and infrastructure to establish and sustain innovation centers, labs, and incubation facilities. Balancing budget allocations between core academic activities and innovation initiatives is also a challenge. Limited awareness and understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship concepts among faculty and students. Students sometimes show only initial enthusiasm and later on discontinue getting associated with IIC.
