EXAMINATION SCHEMES: CREDIT BASED EVALUATION SYSTEM

 

UG Programmes

Scheme of Examination:

1. B.Com. (Aided) Programme:

The performance of the Learners will be evaluated by one examination of 100 marks at the end of every Semester. (For Foundation Course subject Internal Assessment component carrying 25% marks and the Semester End Examination component carrying 75% marks will be applicable.)

Semester End Examination – 100%      100 Marks

(i) Duration:– These examinations shall be of 3 Hours duration.

(ii) Question Paper Pattern: -

Question Paper Pattern for semester end examination for 100 marks:

1. All the questions are compulsory with internal choice within the questions.

2. There shall be full length questions for 15 or 20 marks each with internal sub questions.

2. Self-Financing Degree Programmes (BMS, BAF, BBI, BAMMC, BTM):

The performance of the learners shall be evaluated into two components viz. by Internal Assessment with 25% marks in the first component and by conducting the Semester End Examinations with 75% marks as the second component.

The allocation of marks for the Internal Assessment and semester End Examinations are as shown below for all programmes:

A. Internal Assessment – 25%        25 Marks

3. Self-Financing Degree Programme (B.Sc. (I.T.), B.Sc. (D.S.)):

The performance of the learners shall be evaluated into three components viz. (i) Internal Assessment for 25 marks, (ii) Semester End Examinations for 75 marks and (iii) practical examination for 50 marks.

Standard of Passing:

· There would be no internal exams for Practical Papers.

· Passing in each individual head is a minimum of 40% (Independently in External and Internal).

· However, overall grades would be given by combining marks of External and Internal exams in aggregate for each course.

· ATKT as per University Norms.

· The result of the Semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the student passes each of Semester I, Semester II, Semester III, Semester IV and Semester V.

Allowed to Keep Terms (ATKT):

1) A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of number of courses of failure in the semester I.

2) A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester III if he/she passes each of the semester I and Semester II OR a learner fails in not more than two courses of Semester I and not more than two courses of Semester II.

3) A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of number of courses of failure in Semester III.

4) A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester V if he/she passes Semester I, II, III & IV. OR A learner shall pass Semester I & II and fails in not more than two courses each of Semester III & IV. OR A learner shall pass Semester III & IV and fails in not more than two courses each of Semester I & II

5) A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester VI irrespective of number of courses of failure in the Semester V.

6) The learner can appear for the Semester VI examination but the result of semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes each of Semesters I, II, III, IV & V.

Candidate shall be eligible for the award of maximum 10 grace marks, wherever necessary in addition to the mark secured in each head of passing for participation in any one of the activities like NSS & DLLLE

 

VERIFICATION OF MARKS

Students of FY and SY can seek verification/revaluation/photocopy of answer books by making an application within a stipulated time of declaration of the said examination results along with the fee prescribed by the University.

USE OF UNFAIR MEANS AT THE EXAMINATION

Student if found guilty of using any unfair means during the examination will immediately attract attention under the Maharashtra Acts NO. XXXI of 1982. The board categorizes malpractices and the quantum of punishment thereof is as laid in the University Ordinance 5050.
